About the AuthorChan Master Sheng-yen is widely recognized as one of the foremost contemporary Buddhist teachers. He received Dharma transmission in the two major schools of Chan, and has a doctorate in Buddhist literature from Rissho University in Tokyo. He has written more than 70 books in Chinese, and over a dozen books in English. Many of his books have been translated into Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, Finnish, German, French, Spanish, Polish, Dutch, Russian, Vietnamese and Indonesian.
